Vale Maurice "Pee Wee" Gee, 93, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at his home in East Jordan.

He was born on December 21, 1921, in East Jordan, the son of Ray and Nora (Hayes) Gee. He grew up in East Jordan. Vale graduated from East Jordan High School in 1941. On October 25, 1941, in East Jordan, he married Vera Elizabeth Staley.

Vale served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Vale retired as a supervisor in 1984, after 43 years from the East Jordan Iron Works, now known as EJ Company.

He enjoyed people, woodworking, working in his yard, gardening and watching sports.

Vale is survived by his wife of seventy-four years, Vera Elizabeth Gee of East Jordan; six children, Bud (Joanne) Gee of Gaylord, Bonnie (Robert) Eggle of Cadillac, Donald (Margaret) Gee of East Jordan, Evelyn (John) Thompson of East Jordan, Elaine (Thomas) Birgy of East Jordan and Julie (James, Jr.) Meredith of East Jordan; one daughter-in-law, Shari (Pete) Knudsen of East Jordan and Arizona; fifteen grandchildren, Keith (Angela) Gee, Brenda (Jim) Weller, Steve (Theresa) Gee, Brian Gee, Christine (Todd) Palmer, Jacqueline Gee Swanson, Jennifer Eggle, Wendy (John) Crusoe, Michael (Charity) Gee, Anthony Kitchen, Rachael (Malcolm) Coates, Matthew Birgy, Krystal (Craig) Johnson, Amy (Ben) Newington and Lucas (Jessica) Meredith; nineteen great-grandchildren, Marcus Gee, Chelsea Gee, Kayla (Andrew) Brisson, Krista Fryczynski, Jessica Gee, Nicole Gee, Jordan Palmer, Zoe Palmer, Taylor Swanson, Daniel Crusoe, Colin Crusoe, Noah Crusoe, Madyson Gee, Dylan Gee, Declan Gee, Marek Coates, Noah Newington, Grace Newington and Sophia Meredith; one great-great granddaughter, Emma Brisson; and one brother, Glen (Lillian) Gee of East Jordan. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Russell Gee in 1999, granddaughter Danielle Kitchen in 1973; grandson, Kristopher Eggle in 2002; great granddaughter, Selah Coates in 2006; four sisters, Fern Bennett, Ilean Gee, Beulah Gee and Evelyn Neumann; and one brother, Earl Gee.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 12:00 Noon at the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan. Rev. James L. Jordan and Rev. Bart Adams will officiate with interment following in Sunset Hill Cemetery in East Jordan.

The family will receive friends at the Lighthouse Missionary Church on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Memorial contribution may be directed to Heartland Hospice, 4020 Copper View, #113, Traverse City, MI 49684-7041 or the East Jordan Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 223, East Jordan, Michigan. The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
