Obituary: Blanche S. Johnson, 82, passed away Friday December 14, 2007 at Willow Springs Nursing Home with her sons and their children at her side. She was born on September 23, 1925 in Salton, WA. Proud parents Raymond Bisson and Bessie Wheaton watched and helped their beautiful daughter learn and grow until her graduation from the 7th grade. For most of her life she was a devoted mother who stayed home and took care of her family, though she did manage to achieve a nursing aid certificate; she was a member of the World Wide Church of God. In her spare time Blanche liked to play baseball, golf, and bowling. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening, and creating beautiful oil paintings. She loved animals and always had many dogs around the house.
She is survived by three children, Sharon Cole, Monty, and Wayne Johnson. She also had six grandchildren, Danielle, Sean and Kelly Johnson, Deanna, Sherry and Shawn Cole. Memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday December 21, 2007 in the Evergreen Chapel at New Tacoma Funeral Home. Don't grieve for me; for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that place at the close of day. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief; don't lengthen it with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free. Though you have passed, our memories of you still shine brighter than the sun. We love you, Grandma, and miss you dearly; you will always be with us in our hearts.
