Raymond Barthel, 78, Sauk Rapids Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Cloud, for Raymond A. Barthel, 78, formerly of St. Cloud, who died Saturday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids. The Rev. Robert Harren will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Sauk Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids. Parish prayers will be 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Raymond Barthel was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Cold Spring to Henry and Elizabeth (Traut) Barthel He married Clara Klein on June 15, 1944, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waite Park. He was a farmer and worked for Granite City Livestock. He lived in the St. Cloud area most of his life, and was a member of St Anthony's Catholic Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters, Frederick, Minneapolis; Reinhard, Coon Rapids; Donna Frisch, Browerville; Raymond, Joan, Roger and Yvonne Feneis, St. Cloud; Margie Long, Sauk Rapids; sisters, Alice Nierengarten, St. Cloud; Marie Schafer, Avon; Lorraine Gresser, Osseo; 17 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, March 22, 1980; sisters, Irene Schmitz, Lucille Wruck and Bernelda; brothers, Celestine and Clarence; and one grandson.
