PHILLIP DANZIGER A SUICIDE
Shoots Brains Out in Local Hotel - Had Lived Near Knab

Sunday night at 11 o'clock Phillip Danziger blew out his brains with a revolver in his room at the Columbia Hotel on Lower Chehalis Avenue. Mrs. Lala Thompkins, the landlady, heard the shot and hurried to the room only to find the man dead. He had placed the muzzle of the pistol in his mouth and fired, the bullet tearing a gaping wound through the back of his head. Coroner
E. C. Flassel, who was called, removed the body to the Flassel Funeral Home.

Bried notes were left by Danziger, asking that Robert Kane of Burlington, Wash., be notified; also Richard Conway of Knab, where the man resided.

Sanziger was about 65 years of age. He bought a small ranch near Knab, est of Toledo, in southern Lewis County, about eight years ago, recently selling this.

He was the son of Son of John Danziger b. Austria and Unknown b. Austria. He married Matilda Wesserling 9 Feb 1918 in Skagit County, Washington.

After locating there he went away for a time and it is reported that he had married a woman in the northern part of the state from whom he was separated. Whether he was divorced or not is not known locally.

No inquest will be held.

Danziger had been in Chehalis Saturday evening and seemed in his usual good spirits. Danziger was well-known around Toledo.
