Services for Minnie “Marcella” Ellis, 75, of Mead, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Nick Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery.
Marcella was born on Feb. 4, 1940, in Comanche, Okla., to Leon Stanley and Barta May Piker Mayes. She departed this life on Nov. 8, 2015, in Sherman, Texas.
Marcella was raised in the Healdton/Dundee area graduating from Dundee High School in 1958. She married Robert Don Ellis on Aug. 5, 1958, at Zaneis making their home in Carter County. She was employed by the Fox Public schools for 26 years as a bus driver and custodian, before retiring and moving to Lake Texoma. She enjoyed making decorative calendars, camping, fishing and riding around the lake with Robert on their golf cart. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially family reunions. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, David Mayes.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Don Ellis of Springer, and Phillip Lee and Missy Ellis of Healdton; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Teddy Warren of Fox; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle and Lamar Poole of West Rome, Ga., and Barbara and Ron Hicks of North Platt, Neb.; one brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Donna Mayes of Mead, Okla.; five grandchildren, Robert and wife, Kelyn Ellis of Sulphur, Brandon and Jessica Ellis of Ardmore, Kristi and Sean Newell of Fox, Ashley Ellis of Dickson, and Nikki Warren of Fox; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Ellis, Marvin Ellis, Edward Ellis, Calvin Ellis, Aaron Pulis and Porter McDaniel.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton.
