OBITUARY

Levi Plummer Carter, was born February 26, 1855 at Eagleville, Indiana; died June 26, 1927, at Ulysses, in Grant County Kansas, aged 72 years and four months. Mr. Carter moved to Jewell County, Kansas in the year of 1873, from there to Stafford County in 1885, moving to Grant County in the year of 1911, and making his home in Grant County since that time, living on his farm southeast of Ulysses seven miles. Mr. Carter was united in marriage to Alta Blackledge on April 12, 1888, in Sterling, Kansas. To this union was born thirteen children: Walter, of Lamar, Colorado; Ora, of Lakin, Kansas; Mrs. Ethel Simpson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Marie Ungles, of Manter, Kansas; Charlie; Harvey; Clarence; Mrs. Viola Oliver; Mrs. Jennie Hampton; Ted; Viola Pearl, Lena and Florence, all of Grant County. Mr. Carter was born into the Quaker church, which faith he has remained steadfast to since his birth. He leaves to mourn his loss, his faithful wife, thirteen children, and a host of relatives and friends.
