George Fred Dorn, Sr., 91, formerly of 716 Holloway Avenue, widower of Madge Lee Horne Dorn, died November 8, 2015 at NHC - Greenwood. Born in Edgefield County, he was a son of the late William Fred and Ethel Ouzts Dorn. He retired from Greenwood Mills-Durst Plant and was a member of the Quarter Century Club and also retired from Security Forces, Inc. George was a US Army Veteran of the 3rd Infantry Division. He was a member of Marshall Road Church of God, and of the Adult Sunday School Class. Surviving are four sons, Tony Dorn (Yvonne) of Greenwood, George Dorn, Jr. (Angie) of Waterloo, John Dorn (Tammy) of Greenwood, and Billy Dorn (Betty) of Hodges; three brothers, C. W. Dorn and Hoyt Dorn of Greenwood and Raymond Dorn of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Joshua Dorn (Melinda) of Greenwood, Jennifer Gillion (Kevin) of Greenwood, Matthew Dorn (Sarah) of Hodges, Jeremy Dorn of Ninety Six, Cody Dorn of Greenwood and Kelsey Dorn of Greenwood; six great-grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Sophia, Micah, Judah Dorn, all of Hodges and Alayna Gillion of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Yancey Dorn and James Dorn; and a sister, Irene King. Burial, with military honors, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
