José Vigil, born March 19, 1933, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
José was a Sergeant in the New Mexico Army National Guard.
José served his country in Korea.
José was a resident of Algodones and Rio Rancho. Jose was a great storyteller and jokester.
José loved to watch sports and to bask in the sun while smoking his cigarette.
José was a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend.
José was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Senaida Vigil, his wife, Patricia Vigil and his brothers, Alex Vigil, Johnny Vigil, Raymond Vigil and Leroy Vigil.
José is survived by his children, Mary and Jerry Martínez, Tom and Christy Vigil and Allen Vigil and Dina Armijo, his sisters, Fela Romero, Theresa, Lucy and Fidelia Vigil and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his beloved puppy, Mylo.
Services for Jose will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 S. Camino del Pueblo in Bernalillo, beginning with a Viewing at 10:00 a.m. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will take place at the Santa Fé National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
