Nardi, Alan "Al"

Alan Nardi, age 75, of Sheboygan died Tuesday evening November 3, 2015 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Alan was born April 19, 1940 in Stambaugh, Michigan to the late Geno and Veronica (Adzima) Nardi.

Al was a 1958 graduate of Stambaugh High School. He was united in marriage to the former Darlene Kath on August 3, 1968 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Green Bay. Alan proudly served his country in the US Air Force from Feb. 1959 until Dec. 1962. He was stationed in San Antonio, TX at Lackland Air Force Base and Okinawa, Japan as a personnel specialist. Following his service to our country he furthered his education at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI from 1963 - 1964. He then graduated from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan with a degree in social work. He was employed as a State of Michigan case worker in Delta County - Escanaba from 1967 - 1970. He then was employed as a MI State Employment Security Commission as a job counselor in Iron River prior to moving to Sheboygan in 1979. Al then worked at Kohler Company in the engine division until 1987 and then in maintenance in the hospitality division until his retirement in 2000. Alan loved hunting and fishing with his dad and uncle Bruno, later with his son Keith. The past ten years he traveled with his wife Darlene to Mountain Home, AR from February until April; Iron River in May and October to hunt and fish. Alan had a wonderful sense of humor. Besides hunting and fishing he enjoyed Brewer games, family events, walking, reading and grilling. He loved being out in nature, believing that everything and everyone had a place in the world.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Darlene; daughter Keri Lee Nardi of Sheboygan; son Keith Alan Nardi of Sheboygan; sisters Marise (Dick) Engel of Greenville, WI, Margot Nardi of Milwaukee; nephews Jeff Engel of Colorado and Craig (Heidi) Engel of Hortonville, WI and their sons Ian and Owen; an aunt Agnes Klein of Streamwood, IL and cousins.
