Norma Katherine (Bell) Sigler, the daughter of Elmer and Lillian (Falb) Bell was born October 2, 1921 in Kossuth County, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 94 years and 28 days.

Norma attended Parachail School in Whittemore, Iowa, and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in l935. She graduated from high school in l939, and furthered her education by attending nursing school. On December 7, 1942, Norma was united in marriage to Everett Donald Sigler at South Sioux City, Nebraska. In 1944, she graduated from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, and joined Everett, as he finished his military service. Norma’s nursing career spanned 24 years. For 20 of those years, she was employed by the Good Samaritan Society. Everett and Norma first moved to Red Oak in 1967, with the Good Samaritan Society. She served as their director of nursing, while Everett was the administrator. They lived in several locations, as they continued to work for Good Samaritan Society. In 1981, they retired and made Red Oak their home. It was at this time, Norma enjoyed babysitting with her grandsons and a special little girl, Stacie Robertson. Norma was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, having held various offices. She enjoyed sewing, handwork, reading, and working in her flower gardens.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett on May 20, 1999; three sisters: Phyllis, Ruth and Maxine; and brother, Wayne.

Norma is survived by her two daughters: Sandra Sigler of Red Oak, IA; and Pamela Peterson and husband Marlin of Red Oak, IA; two grandsons: Lucas Peterson of Orlando, FL; and Benjamin Peterson and wife Ashley of Red Oak, IA; one great-grandson, Everett Peterson of Red Oak, IA; and brother, Dale Bell and wife Donna of Whittemore, IA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:30 A.M.
at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
