ARDELLA (MILLER) HENSON
Mrs. Della Henson, 84, a native of the Sims community, who died at Memorial hospital here April 3rd (1953), leaves more than 90 descendants.
She had ten children, 35 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Sims Missionary Baptist church on Sunday, April 5th by Rev Lloyd Trotter and Rev. Harold Mayberry. Burial was in Pin Oak Cemetery.

Livona Ardella Miller, daughter of Andrew Jackson and Melvina Miller, was born near Sims on October 16th, 1868.
Funeral services were held from the Sims Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, April 5th, by Rev Lloyd Trotter and Rev. Harold Mayberry. Burial was in Pin Oak cemetery.
In March 1883, she was married to Squire Henson, who preceded her in death on 1914.
She was a member of the Missionary Baptist church of Sims.
Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by two children, Lieuna in 1922 and Oliver, who died at an early age in 1895.

Surviving are ten children, Miss Margaret Henson, Mrs Jessie Sons and Mrs. Donald Warren of Sims; and Mrs. Vina Fields and Mrs. Cora Compagna, of Alton; five sons, Loren and Jeff of Sims; Andrew, Chris and Harold of Alton; one brother, Chris Miller, of Chicago; a sister, Mrs Clara Miller, of Geff; 35 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
