Michael Allen Whitis, 52, Frankfort, went to be with our Lord on May7, 2009.
He was a member of West Frankfort Church of God. He was the owner and operator of Johnson Moving Co.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Whitis; his mother, Nora Alvena Whitis; two sisters, Brenda Abney and Marilyn Sue Kinsey; and one nephew, David Michael Abney.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jackie Metts Whitis; his brothers,Gary (Sandy) Whitis, Dusty Whitis, and Dennis (Vickie) Whitis; his sisters, Joyce Howard, Sharon Strong, and Lisa (Anthony) Mays; his daughters, Lindsay (Robert) Poole Jessica Whitis, Tiffany Whitis and Sarah Whitis; his sons, Chris Curtis, Christopher Whitis, Jason Amburgey, Mathew (Melissa) Amburgey, Mark Amburgey, and Michael D.Whitis; his grandchildren, Taylor Dews, Shelby Dews, Dakota Poole, Breydon Whitis, Kaiden Gordon, Sophie Poole, Jaidan Ambburgey, Aubrey Whitis, Andrew Poole; and one grandson, Michael Allen Whitis, due on Father’s Day.
Pallbearers are: Christopher and Michael D. Whitis, Matthew, Mark and Jason Amburgey, Robert Poole and Tyler Vogler. Honorary pallbearers are: Todd Murphy, Larry Denney, Harold Warner, Steve Maddox, Ralph Carmack, Derek Kinsey, Jeff and Pat Grych.
Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 - 6:00pm, at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
