Marilyn S. Kinsey, 64, of Columbus, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at 8:28 a.m. at Hospice of South Central Indiana In patient Facility.
Mrs. Kinsey was a hair stylist 41 years for Hair Bazaar. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose and Corvette Club.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Dignity Memorial Chapel on 25th Street, with Pastor Mark R. Teike officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service timeTuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Kinsey was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Somerset, Ky., the daughter of Virgil and Nora Bullock Whitis. She married Lyle J. Kinsey Dec. 31,1961, in Taylorsville.
Survivors include a daughter, Jackie (Jeff) Harris of Shelbyville; a son, Derek (Judy) Kinsey of Indianapolis; brothers, Gary and Mike Whitis, both of Frankfort, Ky., Dorwin Whitis of Richmond, Ky., and Dennis Whitis of Lancaster, Ky.; sisters, Sharon Strong, Lisa Mayes and Joyce Howard, all of Richmond, Ky.; and grandchildren, Devin,Heather, Brett, Drew, Caitlyn and Evan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Jan. 28, 2002; and a sister, Brenda Abney.
