A twin of Irena Diantha (Watts) Gilbert. He died on a Sunday morning, at his father's residence near Peoria, from a sudden illness that came on the night before. He was age 22 or 23. According to a local newspaper article, he had just graduated from the medical department at Willamette University a few months earlier. (from the States Rights Democrat newspaper of Albany, Oregon, Thursday, 09 October 1874). However Wilamette Univesity has no record of him graduating.
