Mr. Adams was a member of the Gladstone Baptist Church.
He had been the owner of the Clay Adams Jewelry and Sporting Goods in North Kansas City, MO for 32 years. He was a founding charter member of North Kansas City Breakfast Club and the Clay-MO Bowmen. He was a member of the Masonic Alpha Lodge #659 AFAM; was a Royal Arch Mason of Liberty; member Ararat Shrine and Knights Templar of Liberty; former member of the North Kansas City Lions Club and former President of the North Kansas City Merchants Association.
He is survived by his wife, Vedera E. "Vea" Adams, of the home in Pleasant Valley, MO; daughters, Sue Alexander of Rayville, MO; Doris Janet Adams of Blue Springs, MO; and Linda Heese of Pleasant Valley, MO; step-son Clarence Finley of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was prededed in death by his parents, Samuel and Nora (Cravens) Adams; brothers, Ray Adams, Bill Adams, Emmett Adams and Johnny Adams; sisters, Ruth Bush and Frances Brown; and one step-son, Dwayne Finley.
Funeral services will be Nov. 3, 2000. Burial at Old Union Christian Union Cemetery in Lawson, MO. D.W. Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
