Mrs. Nora Adams, 73, died Friday afternoon at the home of a son, Roy Adams, in the Dockery community north of Richmond, MO. She had been ill the past year.
Born July 3, 1878, she was one of seven children of William Thomas and Mahalia (Rhea) Craven, native Missourians. She had lived in Ray County all of her life.
She was a member of the Richmond Baptist Church.
She was married to Samuel Adams, of Rayville, February 4, 1897. He died May 4, 1946.
Three sons also preceded her death, Emmett died in July 1948; John S. in April 1949; and one in infancy.
Surviving are three sons, Ray Adams of Richmond, MO; George W. Adams of Mount Orb, OH; and Clay Adams of North Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Bush of Richmond, MO; and Mrs. Fannie Ogg of Richmond, MO; one brother, Elwood Craven of Lawson, MO; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Carroll of Clarksville, AR; fifteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Richmond Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Hutcherson officiating. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery, near Lawson, MO.
