Rhoda Ellen Beattie Chamberlain, devoted wife, mother, loving grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away on October 14, 2015, in her home in Orderville, Utah.
Ellen was born June 25, 1925 to Seth Glen and Ethel Maud Middleton Beattie in Rexburg, Idaho.
Her childhood was spent in Burton and Rexburg, with summers in sheep camps in Idaho. She graduated from high school in Salmon, Idaho.
During World War II, she met and married Dell Chamberlain. They were married on April 4, 1944 in Hamilton, Montana, and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on June 13, 1946.
Ellen and Dell were married for fifty years. Ellen lovingly took care of Dell in their home the last five years of his life, until he passed away in August 1994. They are the parents of four children: Sheri, Robert, Kim, and Scott.
Ellen dedicated her life to home and family. She had beautiful homes and yards in Mesa, Arizona and Orderville, Utah. After her children were in school, she obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts and Masters of Arts degrees from Arizona State University. She loved and served her family, children, and grandchildren. She accepted and fulfilled many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ethel, two brothers: Glen and Bert Beattie, and her sweetheart husband, Dell. She is survived by her children Sheri (Peter) Fagergren, Robert (Neldia) Chamberlain, Kim (Tammy) Chamberlain, Scott (Stephanie) Chamberlain, 24 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are in the Orderville L.D.S. Chapel on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM with a viewing from 12:00 to 12:45. Interment is in the Orderville Town Cemetery, Utah.
