Goldie was the first child born to John and Suzie Meppelink Vander Hart on November 26, 1922, near Peoria, Iowa. Goldie went to her heavenly home on October 12, 2015, at the Comfort House at the age of ninety-two.

Goldie met Fred De Nooy at Young People's Society at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church where they both attended and where Goldie professed her faith for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They were united in marriage on October 16, 1941, at her parents' home near Peoria, Iowa.

In May of 1942, Fred entered the U.S. Army and went to California for training. Goldie went with him until July 1943, when he went overseas to serve and Goldie returned home to her parents until Fred returned home in December of 1945.

Goldie and Fred were blessed with five children: Linda, Dennis, Cathy, Dale, and Darrell. They lived on her parents farm until 1992, when they moved to Pella. Here she enjoyed quilting as she made a quilt for each of her 18 grandchildren.

Goldie was also a faithful member of Peoria and Calvary Church Bible Study groups. Fred and Goldie moved to Hilltop and there Fred passed away April 14, 2012. Soon after Goldie moved to Fair Haven East. After one year, Goldie needed more care and moved to Jefferson Place. She lived there eight months before moving to Comfort House.

Those left to cherish her memory are: his five children and their spouses; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law: Erma and Cornie Van Wyngarden; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are: her parents John and Suzie Meppelink Vander Hart; parents-in-law John and Christina De Nooy; and grandson Bradley De Nooy.
