Alice Brown

CHARLESTON – Alice Burrus Brown, 87, of Charleston died at 10 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 23, 1993) at Charleston Manor.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Caudill-King Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

She was born Oct. 11, 1905, in Rardin, the daughter of Thomas and Alma Callahan Collins.  She married Clyde E. Burrus in 1928; he died in 1953.  She married Robert Brown; he died in 1978.

Surviving are two sons, Clyde Burrus Jr. of Charleston and Lowell Burrus of Roanne, Ind.; a daughter, Sophia Lou Shafer of Ashmore; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters.

CHARLESTON – The funeral for Alice Burrus Brown was held Friday morning at the Caudill-King Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh Smith and the Rev. Ray Finney officiating.  Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

The organist, Mrs. Harry Stewart, played "The Old Rugged Cross," "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset."

The pallbearers were Joe Gossett, Roy and Randy Shafer, Paul Steven and Clyde Burrus and Darrell Nees.

Mrs. Brown, 87, of Charleston died Feb. 23, 1993, at Charleston Manor.
