Janet was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and daughter Clarice. She is survived by their three devoted children, Lynn Thomas, Brenda (Roderick) Lightner and Shannon (Mike) Miller; granddaughters Tally (Robert), Sydney (Derek), Jordan and Mackenzie; brother Larry Broyles; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet played French horn at Pittsboro High School where she graduated in 1954, and attended Butler University. She was an active member of the Pittsboro Christian Church and the Pittsboro Chapter of O.E.S # 416. She was a band booster for Tri-West High School. Janet and her husband Tom were active in the Conservation Bird Dog Club and National Shoot to Retrieve Field Trial Association. Together they owned L&W Drywall and renovated the Lizton School building into Memory Book Apartments in the early 1970’s. A farmer all her life, Janet established Love’s Blue Ridge Farm to support her granddaughters in the 4-H goat project. She was an avid supporter of the Indiana and Hendricks County fair livestock auctions.
Visitation is from 4-8 pm Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro. Celebration of Life service on Monday, October 19, 2015, at 12 pm at the Lizton Lions Park. Burial following in Lizton K of P Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Janet’s honor to the Hendricks County 4-H Fair Association, P.O. Box 7, 1900 E.
