Mrs. Nancy Ann Brunton age 76 years eight months and six days passed away at her home nine miles southeast of Hamilton, Sunday afternoon.
Nancy Ann McGee was born near Macomb, Ill., in 1832 and moved to Hancock County in 1846, settling on what is still known as the McGee homestead. In 1852 she was united in marriage to Collins Brunton and moved to the farm which has ever since been her home. In early days Mrs. Brunton came to Keokuk to do trading, crossing the Mississippi River in the ferry boat and had ever since been a frequent visitor to the city.
On November 29 she had a stroke of paralysis and after a week of intense suffering, peacefully sank to sleep Sunday morning. Mrs. Brunton leaves two daughter, Miss Henrietta Brunton and Mrs. Minnie Comfort, granddaughters, Marie and Annette Comfort, a sister, Mrs. Issac Wilson of Carthage and two brothers, Frank McGee and A. J. McGee, beside a host of loving neighbors and friends who eased with tender hands her last suffering.
The funeral will be held from the family residence tomorrow morning and the body will be interred in the family vault in McGee Cemetery.
