Geneva passes away October 5, 2006 at Marian Medical Center. Geneva was born June 27, 1909 in Haskell County, Texas to William Henry and Stella Floy (Wharton) Henning.
Geneva, her husband and three children moved to Santa Maria Valley in 1942. Geneva was a homemaker all of her married years, caring for her husband and children.
Geneva was a member of Clark Avenue Baptist Church for many years and spent many hours at the Luis Oasis Senior center. Her hobbies included all types of needle work and gardening.
Geneva is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Elwin and Sandra Byrd and bill and Gloria Byrd all of Santa Maria and her daughter, Faye Berry of Lompoc, CA. Geneva is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Everett H. Byrd who died February 2, 1992, granddaughter, Susan Wright, sister Ruby Henning and a brother, Alvin Henning.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 9, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Maria Cemetery with Pastor Bruce McLain of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary and Crematory.
