Margaret was one of two daughters born to Jeanie Davenport and Walter Frederick Campbell Ramsay. Margaret was sent to the Barnardo Homes for children as a young child. On the 18th of October 1908, age 11, she was transported aboard the S.S. Dominion to Canada with thousands of other British Home Children.
Margaret was housed initially at Hazelbrae, a Barnardo distributing home in Peterborough. Later she was sent out to work for various families in Ontario. By 1919 she was in Ingersoll where she met Samuel Bowman; they were married on the 22nd of October. Margaret is survived by their three children.
