Daughter of Jacob and Sarah Vandannicker Faller, both born in Germany, she married Rev. Darius B. Tobey, was widowed, lived at 1419 Buffalo St, Franklin, died there of a cerebral hemorrhage causing paralysis of left leg and arm, per death certificate 7825, whose informant was Mrs. Carl Rose of the same address. Buried Jan 11 1937.

Franklin News-Herald, Friday, Jan 8 1937:
Mrs. Mary Tobey, aged widow of Rev. D. B. Tobey, Free Methodist minister, died shortly after noon today at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. Rose, 1419 Buffalo Street. Death was attributed to a stroke of paralysis which she suffered last night.

Franklin News-Herald, Saturday, Jan 9 1937:
Services in memory of Mrs. Mary Ann Tobey, whose death occurred at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon following a brief illness, will be held at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. Rose, 1419 Buffalo Street, on Monday afternoon. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.

She was 86, having been born at Fryburg April 1, 1850, daughter of Jacob and Sarah Faller. She made her home in Franklin for 47 years, and was loved and respected by all who knew her.

On July 1, 1874, she married Darius Tobey and spent many years of her life in active service for the Free Methodist Church, her husband being a minister of that faith for 53 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas B. Gavin and Mrs. Rose, of this city; four grandchildren, Donald, Carl, and Howard of this city, and Mrs. Frank A. Hathaway of Carbondale; and one great-granddaughter, Marianne Tobey Rose, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald T. Rose.
