Born July 4, 1912, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Thomas P. and Alice E. Bishton Boyle, who are deceased. She was the widow of Halstead Meadows Sr.
Mrs. Meadows was long a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge, where she made her home for some 44 years. Her family said she may be remembered for her untiring work with both the church and in synod activities.
She is survived by her children, Marjory Watts and her husband, Johnny, of Kingston; Halstead Meadows Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Momoe Township, N.J., and Thomas D. Meadows Sr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Dothan, Ala; seven grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Watts of Knoxville, J. Michael Watts and his wife, Faye, of Washington, N.C., Capt. Halstead Meadows III and his wife, Tracy, of Jacksonville, N.C., Foress J. Meadows and his wife, Shannon, of Nashville, Christopher Meadows and his wife, Krista, of Kansas City, Mo., Traci Jones and her husband, Michael, of Mobile, Ala., and Thomas D. Meadows Jr. and his wife, Angie, of Silver Hill, Ala; her siblings, Dennis Boyle and Monica Stephens of Buffalo, N.Y.; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, her sisters Patricia Irving, Elizabeth Gowland, Winifred Chosie and twin Kathleen Hoke; and her brother Thomas P. Boyle.
A private graveside service was held at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of gifts to the Library Fund at Grace Lutheran Church, 131 W. Gettysburg Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830; to the Anderson County Literacy Council, 105 S. Charles G. Seviers Blvd., Clinton, TN 37716; or a charity of the donor's choice.
