Howard went out to Idaho to work for the railroad. He went to Salt Lake City, Utah and married Francis Louise Josephine Manning 6/30/1899. They had 2 children together: Frederick born 1900, Margaret born 1902. His wife Frances died 7/19/1903 St Anthony, Idaho.
12/12/1904 Howard married Estella McElhone in St Anthony, Idaho. Estalla was the daughter of James McElhone from ireland & Mary Isabel Moore from Illinois; married 10/28/1883 Wyoming. She had a sister Ella . While Estella stayed in Utah to study nursing and lived with the Farleys, her mother and sister lived in St Anthony, Idaho. Her sister's married name was Manning. Ella died 10/10/1911 Pocatello, Idaho. Her mother filled out the death cert info. Unknown when Estella's mother died.
