Carmela was born in Boston, Mass. on Jan. 22, 1920, daughter of the late Domenic and Concetta (Marchiano) Sica. Her family then moved to Italy when she was a child and later came back to this country and settled in Waterbury. She was employed at Timex Corp. for 20 years before her retirement. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where she was also a member of the St. Ann's Society. Carmela devoted her life to her family.
She leaves two sons, Vincent Favale and his wife Katherine Favale, and Salvatore Favale and Joanne Guerriero, both of Waterbury; two daughters, Mary Torp and her husband Thomas Torp, and Denise Angle and her husband Jay Angle, both of Watertown; three brothers, Angelo Sica and Anthony Sica, both of Waterbury and Giuseppe Sica of Oakville; five grandchildren, Michael Favale, Sherri Joyce, Jennifer Haile, Brian Torp and Ashley Angle; and three great-grandchildren, Julia and Jenna Joyce and Anthony Favale. A sister, Mary Favale, is deceased.
Arrangements: Funeral Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for a Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment: Calvary Garden Mausoleum. Calling hours: Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
