John W. Allison, 92, of 2463 W. TR 18, Tiffin, died 8:58 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, in Mercy Hospital, Tiffin.

He was born May 11, 1914, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to John Wesley and Florence (Shoup) Allison. They are deceased.

He married Evelyn R. (Wagner) Allison, Sept. 10, 1943, and she survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Sue) Staib; two sons, Robert J. and Charles G. Allison, both of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Nathan and Christopher Staib; four great-grandchildren, Allison, Kaira, Denver and Carson Staib; a sister, Mrs. Grace Sims of Lakeside, Ohio; and a half brother, James Wagner of Port Clinton.

One brother, Lawrence Allison, and a half sister, Alice Wagner, are deceased.

Mr. Allison was a retired machinist. He worked 20 years at National Machinery in Tiffin and 20 years at the former Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a member of Tiffin Lodge No. 77 F. & A.M., a member of Tiffin Shrine Club and also a 32nd-degree Mason. He was a roadrunner for taking crippled children to Shrine Hospitals in Cincinatti and Chicago for 15 years. He also was a life member of DAV in Tiffin, a life member of Tiffin Amvets Post No. 48 and a member of Tiffin Eagles Aerie No. 402. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corp.

There will be a graveside funeral 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Tiffin. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions to Shrine Hospital Burn Unit or Donor's Choice.
