SUFFOLK- Franklin Earl Boring died September 12, 2015. He lived a rich, full life, spanning 81 years.

A native of Neodesha, Kansas, he was the son of the late Ethel Irene and Mike Boring. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Boring, Roy Boring, and his sister, Doris Baalman, and was "Uncle Frank" to his many nieces and nephews.

After high school graduation, Frank left Kansas for a tour with the Air force, serving in England. He returned to Kansas, completing his bachelor's degree at Kansas State College of Pittsburgh, where he received his commission in the Army through ROTC. During his Army career, he served in France, Germany, Korea, and Viet Nam. After his active service, he settled in Virginia and joined the Army Reserve. He was promoted to Lt. Col and later retired with over 30 years of service to his country.

He was active in local real estate with Century 21 in the 70's, earning his broker's license and Million Dollar Sales Club status for three consecutive years from 1978 to 1980. In 1982, he moved to California to join Doug and took a job as Bowling Center Manager at Oakland Army Base, returning to Virginia in 1985 as Manager of the Fort Eustis facility, and the Fort Story Bowling Center. He retired from Civil Service with the Department of Defense in 1995.

After retirement, Frank kept busy by delivering flowers for King's Florist and volunteering with the Master Gardener Program of Virginia Beach. He and Doug moved to Suffolk in 1998. In retirement, they visited Germany, Greece, Portugal, and Hawaii. Frank enjoyed golf, bowling, history, travel, and gambling. In recent years, he enjoyed time at his home in Suffolk and his home in Las Vegas, connecting with friends and relatives in both locations.
