Daughter of Christ M. and Hester A. Force Hoover, she married Lysander M. Bowen, was widowed, lived at 1341 Franklin Ave, Franklin, died of an embolism and softening of the brain, per death certificate 41748, whose informant was Mrs. George Moffett of Franklin. Buried Apr 4 1935.

Mrs. Gertrude A. Bowen of Franklin died at 6:30 am Tuesday at her home, 1341 Franklin Avenue, after an illness of about 3 weeks. She was born Sept. 28, 1857 in Franklin, daughter of Christopher M. and Hester Ann Hoover.

In 1877 she married Frank I. Beers and they had one daughter. In 1894 she married L. M. Bowen.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Ruth B. Moffett; a brother, James P. Hoover, both of Franklin; granddaughter, Mrs. F. N. Barnes of St. Louis, MO; a grandson, George K. Moffett of Franklin; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 am Thursday at Barron Chapel with Rev. S. S. Clark, pastor of First Baptist Church, and Rev. Dr. Martin Aigner, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
