Glenn "Wayne" Graybeal, 69, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.

Mr. Graybeal was born in Watauga County to the late Roy Graybeal and Sarah Wellborn Graybeal. He was a truck driver for Hollar and Greene Produce for 36 years and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and Laurel Springs Baptist Church where he served as past Deacon and Sunday school teacher, Usher and Sunday school superintendent. Wayne loved spending time outdoors, gardening and doing yard work, and more than anything, he loved spending time and caring for his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Graybeal; his mother-in-law, Virginia Yates, sister-in-law, Laura Bolick and brother-in-law, Frank Hicks.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda Yates Graybeal; his sons, Brent Graybeal and wife Kendra of Fleetwood, and Jeff Graybeal and wife Betty of Boone; his daughter, Carrie Lusk and husband Chris of Vilas; his brother, R. D. Graybeal and wife Martha of Deep Gap; his sisters, Faye Hicks of Lenoir, Donna Huffstetler and husband Gary of Lenoir, Betty Upchurch of Boone and Joyce Baker and husband Arvil of Fleetwood; his father-in-law, Albert Yates of Lenoir; sisters-in-law, Jan Greene and husband Mike of Lenoir, Becky McCall and husband Brent of Lenoir, and Nina Graybeal of Deep Gap; brothers-in-law, Maurice Yates of Lenoir, and Milton Yates and wife Brenda of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren, Ashley Ward and husband Wayne of Boone, Dustin Graybeal of Boone, Ben Graybeal and Ian Graybeal, both of Fleetwood; great grandchildren, Allie and Waylon Ward of Boone.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Calvary Church with Dr. Alan Carr and Reverend Brent Bolick. Burial will follow the service at Laurel Springs Baptist Church in Deep Gap. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kermit Miller, Ben Graybeal, Dustin Graybeal, Bobby Graybeal, Mack Hampton and Tim Cook.
