The home of H.P. Gainey was saddened by the death of his mother, Mrs. Millie Gainey, Friday February 28th. “Grandma” Gainey had been in ill health for some time, suffering with cancer and other ailments. She had been a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church for about thirty-five years.
She leaves to mourn her passing, four children, Mrs, Lomia Tillis of Jacksonville, L.R. Gainey of Brooker, E.S. Gainey of Plant City, and H.P. Gainey of Brooker; three sisters, Mrs. Cynthia Lopez and Mrs. P.A. Crosby of Brooker and Mrs. G.W. Scoffield of Inverness, besides a host of grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Interment was in Dedan cemetery Saturday at 4 p.m. with Elder W.M. Moody of LaCrosse officiating and Wilson Funeral Home of Lake City was in charge of arraignments
