Mary was the daughter of James Hall and Sarah Adams. She married William Asher on 22 November 1883 in Carroll, Iowa . They were the parents of V Blaine, Lucille, and Mignon.

COON RAPIDS ENTERPRISE - Fri, Aug 14, 1936 - Mrs Mary Louis Hall Asher, 74, a former resident of Coon Rapids, died at the home of her son V Blaine Asher, at Spencer early Monday morning following an illness extending since about the middle of April. Death was caused by heart disease.

Funeral services were held from the Coder funeral home here Tuesday afternoon, Interment was in the local cemetery.

Mr and Mrs Asher had lived at Spirit Lake for the past 20 years until the death of Mr Asher early this summer at Spencer during their sons absence in the south.

Mrs Asher was born April 15 1862 at Fairbury NE, the daughter of Mr and Mrs James Hall. She received her education there and was a graduate of Nebraska State Normal college. She entered the teaching profession and taught in Iowa where she met her husband who also was engaged in teaching.

They made their home in Coon Rapids where Mr Asher managed a hardware store. Three children were born to then. Their son, Blaine is the only surviving child.

Two daughters, Lucille and Mignon, passed away several years ago.
