Vernon Lee Bates
Mr. Vernon Lee Bates, age 67, of Port Royal, died Monday, February 19, 1990 at the Veterans Hospital in Louisville.
He was clerk at Hawkins Farm Center in Port Royal for 29 years, and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by three brothers, Raymond Bates, Route 1, Turners Station, Robert E. Bates and Leon Bates, both of Carrollton; several nieces and nephews; dear loyal friend, Wm. Van Hawkins and family, Port Royal.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22 at the Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle. Rev. Robert Wilson, Pastor of the Port Royal Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Port Royal Cemetery with full military services by American Legion Post No. 41 of Carrollton.
