Ralph Calderwood died at 9 o'clock last Wed. morning of heart disease, after an illness of three months, at his home on the Payette River, a few miles above Garden Valley.
He was born in Camden, Maine and was 63 years of age last March.
Mr. Calderwood went to California with his father when ten years of age. Four years later they moved to Montana, where Mr. Calderwood's father died. From there, Mr. Calderwood went to Silver City, in this state, in the early sixties, and came to Idaho city when 21 years. of age.
He was married in 1896 to Miss Anna Carpentier of Garden Valley. Mr. Calderwood located a ranch above Garden Valley thirteen years ago, where he and his family have made their home ever since. He was elected assessor of this county in 1888 and was re-elected in 1890.
Deceased was an old odd fellow, having been initiated in Pioneer Lodge #1 of this place thirty-seven years ago and was buried by that order at 2 o'clock today in Garden Valley. The funeral was largely attended.

At this time of his death he was clerk of School Dist. No. 30. He leaves a wife and four daughters and three sons. The children are all of school age.
