GIBSON CITY: George Washington McAtee, 60, died Tuesday evening, March 4, 1941, at his home, 604 East 11th Street. He had been in ill health for three years.

Funeral services will be at the Lamb Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Kenneth V. Hanley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fred Ogan of Bloomington.

Burial will be in the Drummer Township Cemetery at Gibson City, IL.

He was born April 7, 1880, at Lexington, the son of John G. and Malinda Hicks McAtee. He was married to Miss Darcas E. Shoemaker of Ellsworth in 1900. They moved to Gibson City where they have since lived.

Surviving are the widow; seven daughters, Mrs. Irenetha Shaw of Rankin, Mrs. Helen Wren of Melvin, Mrs. Catherine Taylor of Gibson City, Mrs. Elsie Wagner of Gibson City, Mrs. Darcas Gaines of Gibson City, Mrs. Mary Hubner of Roberts; six sons, Ward of Effingham, George of Saybrook, William, Robert and Joe of Gibson City and Roy of Peoria; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Harve McAtee of Momence and a sister, Mrs. Susie Worthy of Leroy.
