RIVERTON--Loving husband, father and grandfather, Paul Robert Petersen, 59, passed away peacefully at his home, November 10, 1992, of Amyloidosis.

Born April 12, 1933 in Provo, Utah to Joseph Hyrum and Erma Epsy Pace Petersen. Married Elna Despain, July 17, 1951 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Served valiantly in the LDS Church in many positions and callings, and was an influence for good in the lives of many young men. He was a temple worker in the Jordan River LDS Temple and enjoyed doing extraction work at home. He graduated from BYU. Served in US Air Force during Korean Conflict. He was an aerospace engineer for Hercules for 31 years. Member of the Utah Pheasant Society.

He was a good influence to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by all.

Survived by his wife, Elna, Riverton; children, Robert, Hood River, Oregon; Mrs. Daniel S. (Debbie) Mehr II, Apple Valley, Calif; David and Tawna Petersen, Phonix, Arizona; Mrs. Lloyd (Laurie) Porritt, Las Vegas, Nevada; Michael Petersen, James and Fran Petersen, all Bountiful; Mrs. Brett (Suzanne) Zaugg, North Salt Lake; Mrs. Kurt (Kristina) Mayberry, Salt Lake City; Cynthia Petersen, Logan; Timothy Petersen, Riverton; 27 grandchildren; mother, Erma Petersen (97 years old), Orem; brothers, Parley and Lynn, Orem; Joseph, Provo; sister, Dorothy, Heber. Preceded in death by his father and brother, Rex.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., Riverton 6th Ward, 12400 South 2700 West. Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, and Saturday one hour prior at the church. Interment: Sunset Gardens.
