Jama Lynn Porter, 47, of Baxter Springs, Ks. passed from this life on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Jama was born on October 14, 1967 in Joplin, MO. to the union of Larry James Porter and June Sill. Jama was a home maker taking care of her friends and family. She was very compassionate about giving her time to others. She enjoyed computers, playing on her phone, and just taking long drives. She especially enjoyed all the time with her family and her granddaughter.
Jama was preceded in death by her father Larry James Porter.
Survivors include her mother, June Thompson and step-father Paul Thompson of Carl Junction, MO. her companion Anthony Lovato and his three children; Antonio, Aaron and Nevaeh Lavato of the home. One son, Levi Porter of Carl Junction, MO., and one daughter Miranda Porter of Erie, KS., one sister Gina Shepard and husband Kenneth of Miami, OK. and one granddaughter, Alysha Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, KS. Burial will follow in the Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, KS. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 until service time.
