Louis Curtis Bassett, 90, of Marietta died Wednesday following a sudden illness. Born in Peach County, he was the son of the late William and Sarah Bassett. He was retired from the Plantation Pipe Line. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Lucille "Tommie" Bassett, Marietta sons, Louis Curtis Bassett Jr., Fairfax, Va., and Bruce R. Bassett, Marietta four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral home. The Rev. John Lee Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville.
