Mrs. Will Reed

It is with sorrow that we chronicle the passing of Mrs. Eunice Reed, wife of Will Reed, which occurred at Fort Scott last Wednesday, just one week after she had undergone a major operation at the Mainstreet hospital at that place. She had seemed to be recovering very nicely when without a moments warning the slender thread of life snapped and this fine wife and mother had passed into the Great Beyond.

The body was taken to the family home at Pleasanton, Kansas, where short services were held at 10 o'clock Friday. Relatives and friends then accompanied the remains to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.T. Osborne, southwest of DeSoto and here, in the community where nearly her entire life had been spent, the funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, when Rev. W.O. Watson spoke words of comfort to the sorrowing ones. The esteem in which she was held was evident from the many friends gathered to pay a last tribute of love and respect. Burial was made in DeSoto's Silent City.

About five years ago the family moved from DeSoto to Pleasanton, Kansas, where they had since lived.
