Funeral service for Lois G. Lewis, 86, will be Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Marble City Baptist Church with Bro. Russell Gooden officiating. She will lie in state at the church starting at 9:00 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL. Mrs. Lewis died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her son Barry Lewis. She was secretary for the Town of Oak Grove for 13 years. Lois was a sweet and beautiful person. She loved God and her family above all. If she wasn't loving on her grandchildren, visiting her children or bringing her husband a glass of tea, she was planning a family reunion. She loved to travel but it was rarely just a vacation. Her travels always centered around seeing family. To this day, she still has an overnight bag ready for the next trip. She won't need that overnight bag for this trip because the King of Kings and Lord of Lords greeted her with all she needs for eternity. No more pain, no more sorrow. Her beautiful alto voice now joins God's Choir. We are beyond grateful that God sent her our way and we look forward to joining her one day when God calls us home. We love you always, my precious wife, our precious mother, our precious Granny. She is survived by her husband, Clemmie E Lewis, son, Ken Lewis wife Ilona of Loxley, AL, daughters, Joan Nelson Rodgers husband Richard of Childersburg, AL, Sheila Pennington husband George of Childersburg, AL and Angie Dean husband Chris from Murfreesboro, TN, brother, Paul Glosson wife Francis of Meridian, MS, sisters, Patricia Cleveland husband Ed of White Plains, AL and Ruby Dennis of Sylacauga, 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday July 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Rodgers, Day Johnson, Mitchell Nelson, Austin Pennington, Jake Pennington and Jonathan Wright.
