Pete had 6 siblings that became adults, Maud (Brenn), Margaret (Riley), Mary, Thomas, Ruth & James.
He worked in Elgin, Illinois in a butter factory as a steam fitter for 10 years. He also worked in an ice plant as a steam fitter. Peter never married and from the early 1900s until he died in 1949 he lived in Chicago.
Pete lived simply in a one room apartment with no kitchen, so he ate all of his meals out.
He had a kind heart. Pete spent a lot of his time on Holstead Street in Chicago helping the unemployed. Every Sunday he would go there and buy meals for many of them.
Pete worked for many years, finally retiring when he was 78. Four years later at the age of 82 he died of a heart attack.
Pete is buried in the same lot with his sister Margaret, brother in-law John and nephew John.
