Mr. Donald Jimmy Pittman, 58, of Waycross died early Thursday at Mayo Clinic Health Systems of Waycross after a brief illness.

He was born in Waycross to the late Edgar J. Pittman, Sr., and Louise Proctor Pittman. He had made Waycross his home for his entire life. He was a skilled carpenter who was self-employed for many years in the construction industry. He enjoyed being able to spend any time he could with his family and friends.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Annie Mae Pittman, three sisters, Mary Raulerson, Violet Richardson, Carolyn Pittman and a brother, James Pittman.

Mr. Pittman is survived by three sons, D.J. Pittman and his wife Kristen of Waycross, Scott Pittman and his wife Nicole of Waycross, Roy Pittman and his wife Skeeter of Waycross, his grandchildren, Desirae Pittman, Tyler Pittman, Zachary Pittman, Raymee Pittman, Logan Hood, Oceanna Hood, Levi Stephenson, three sisters, Dot Waldron and her husband Otis of Jesup, Wanice Crews and her husband Gene of Waycross, Ruthie Taylor and her husband Clint of Tennessee, a brother, Buddy Pittman of Waycross and numerous other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
