She was born to Ruffus and Effie Sitzler Thomas. On Dec. 7, 1947, she married Morris T. Babcock who died Sept. 21, 1975.

Surviving are two daughters, Kay (Craig) Pemberton, Rockford, and Sheila (Keith) Pemberton, Livingston, Tenn.; two brothers, Gene Thomas, Robbins, Tenn., and Kenneth Thomas, Glenmary, Tenn.; four sisters, Oma Cooper, Rockwood, Tenn., Marie Newport, Robbins, Tenn., Wanda Bowling, Elgin, Tenn., and Lucille Sexton, Norma, Tenn.; two grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Deceased are a brother, Allen Thomas, and three sisters, Edith Speck, Gladys Moffett and Kathern Monroe.

She was a homemaker and a member of Glenmary Baptist Church.

Services were at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Schubeit Funeral Home, Sunbright, Tenn., the Rev. Mike Smithers officiating.
