Katy Callahan, 59, of Vermillion died Saturday, May 13 in her home.
Katy Moberg was born February 26, 1947 in Estelline, SD, to Wilmer (Bill) and Stella (Nystrom) Moberg. She grew up in Bruce, SD and graduated from Bruce High School. She moved to Vermillion in 1965 and attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, SD. She later married Jerry Callahan in 1974.
Katy worked in the banking business for 10 years, and owned and operated Serv-A-check in Vermillion for over 25 years with her husband.
Katy was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Eagles Club, American Collectors Association, and was currently serving as President of Southeastern Job Link in Vermillion.
Katy is survived by her daughter Christy Callahan and her husband Sean Herschberger of Vermillion, a brother Mo (Deb) Moberg of Sinai, SD, and two sisters Ila Swenning and Charlotte Thompson both of Volga, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jerry.
Burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Vermillion.
