Carolyn Evans, 73, of Broken Bow, passed away August 8, 2015 in Dallas. She was born May 28, 1942 in Lebanon, Missouri, the daughter of Roy and Rosetta Williamson Blackwood.
Carolyn had lived in McCurtain County for the past 45 years, moving here from California. She was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church and the Christian Motorcycle Association.
Carolyn and Jerry Evans, Sr., were united in marriage on May 31, 1959 in Modesto, California. She enjoyed baking, making wedding cakes, sewing, crafts and singing. She sang for several years in the Country Exposure Band along with her husband Jerry and her two sons Jerry, Jr. and Terry Evans.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Mitchell and Eugene Blackwood and an infant grandson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 56 years, Jerry Evans, Sr., of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Evans., Jr. and wife Cindy and Terry Evans and wife Patti; daughter, Tammy Plant all of Broken Bow; brothers and sisters-in-law, David Blackwood and wife Bonnie of Holdenville Ted Blackwood and wife Alberta of Vian, and Roy Blackwood of Tulsa; sister and brother-in-law. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 2pm at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with David Blackwood and Bro. James Dodd officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
