Gordon Anthony Stigers was born May 17, 1953 in Fairview Park Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the third child born to Paul and Esther Stigers. In the fall of 1958 the Stigers family moved to California traveling along Route 66, settling in La Mirada. He graduated from William Neff High School in 1971 and joined the Army. In April 1973 he married Linda Lea Lusk and their only child Christopher was born in December 1973. After his discharge he returned to California and resided for many years in La Mirada. He worked for the Garden Grove Unified School District as an AV technician for 28 years until his retirement.

He married Michele Parker in 1994 and after his retirement they moved to Joliet, Illinois. He died January 27, 2012. His ashes where placed in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on August 3, 2015.

Gordon loved family gatherings and holidays, especially Christmas. During his working years he would dress as Santa Claus and visit the schools on his route. He also worked many years at a Christmas tree farm and loved to laugh and have people laugh along with him.

Gordon Anthony Stigers, age 58, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away January 27, 2012. A long time resident of La Mirada, he was born May 17, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Paul and Esther Stigers.

He graduated from William Neff High School in 1971 and served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1977. He worked 28 years as an AV technician for the GGUSD. In 1994 he was united in marriage to Michele Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Michele of Joliet; son by a previous marriage, Christopher (Christyna) Stigers; grand- daughters, Cayla and Jessie; sisters, Paula (Dave) Hauske, Lorraine (Scott) Bowen; brothers, Les (Judy) Stigers, Ray (Virginia) Stigers, and many nephews and nieces.

Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois at a later date.
