Wednesday night T. P. Baker died at his residence in this city.
Mr. Baker has not been in good health for some time. He came here Sunday afternoon from DeKalb, where he had been living for some time, and where he was taken ill.
The remains were taken to Honey Grove yesterday for burial.
Mr. Baker was tax assessor of this county for six years and was one of the most popular men who ever lived here.
Some six years ago he moved to Bowie County, where he has since resided. His family came back here a few months ago, and he was to join them here in November.
He was Justice of the Peace of his precinct and was to come here as soon as his term of office expired.
He had a great many friends in the county who will regret to hear of his death.
