Loretta Nash Lewis, 45, of Roanoke, died Monday, April 24, 1995, in a local hospital following an extended illness. A daughter of Mr. Elliott and Mrs. Janie Nash, she was born August 13, 1949 in York County, South Carolina, where she attended public school.
She was a graduate of South Carolina State College, Orangeburg, S. C. She was employed as a Dietician a the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Walter Edward Lewis III.
Mrs. Lewis Was a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Loretta leave to cherish her memory, two sons, Lamont and Walter Edward Lewis IV, both of Roanoke; a grandson; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Elliott Nash, Fort Mill, S.C.; her parents-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Walter E. Lewis Jr., Lexington; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary (Benny) Davis, Hemingway, S. C., Juanita (John) Sanders and Carolyn Edwards, all of Charlotte, N.C., Betty (Jesse) Owens, Atlanta, Ga., and Shirley (Richard) Spratt, Ft. Mill, S.C.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Friends may call at the residence, 1517 Lonna Dr., at any time and at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Lewis Jr., 211 Diamond St., Lexington. The body will be moved to the First Baptist Church in Lexington on Thursday, April 27, 1995, at 11:30 a.m., where friends may pay their respects until service time. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Willie Butler, Minister. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Lexington. J. B. Lewis Funeral Service, Lexington, is handling arrangements.
