Ray Gerald "Buck" Gideon, age 78, of Marionville, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006. He was born February 26, 1927, in Taney County, the son of Ralph and Clara (Coates) Gideon. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and later was united in marriage to Donna Lee Perkins. Mr. Gideon was a builder in Lakeview and Kimberling City. He owned and operated Spokane General Store for four years, and worked on oil rigs in North Dakota in the early 1980s. He was also a truck driver for many years, delivering hay and cattle. He became a Christian in 1961 and was a member of Calvary Fundamental Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon. Survivors include: His wife, Donna; three children, Kristy Russell and her husband, Jim, Aurora, Sue Rollings and her husband, Rick, Galena, and Kerry Ray Gideon, Marionville; six grandchildren, James Russell Jr., Karri Stanton, Rick Rollings Jr., Jason Russell, Kerry Joe Gideon, and Ashley Clifton; five great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; three sisters, his twin, Ruth Glidewell, Louise Davis, and Joella Gideon; and a sister-in-law, Joann Gideon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Chloris Gideon, two brothers, Gene Gideon, and Maxie Gideon, and a great-granddaughter, Haleigh Stanton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Rev. Gary Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Spokane Cemetery.
